A Price for Freedom is my favorite Passner and Long show. Its powerful music combined with its message of justice, honor, and sacrifice, make for a truly remarkable story.

“I’ve been honored to be cast in the Passner and Long premieres of Ben Hur, A Price for Freedom, and Pygmalion and saw every performance of the premier production of Curtain in Five.

Passner and Long stories are thought-provoking and spiritually inspiring, compelling actors and audience members alike to re-examine their own choices and beliefs.

In A Price for Freedom, the playwrights’ thorough research combined with a fresh creative approach brought depth and richness to the characters, especially the historical patriots and loyalists. These were real people, faced with decisions that could cost them dearly and would likely impact generations.

I was familiar with divided family loyalties as the Revolutionary War began, but I admit I had little appreciation for families facing those same struggles at the dawning of our nation. The Hammond family teaches that freedom is demanding and costly and that, with anything we truly value and treasure, we may have to sacrifice all.

Audiences will love the authentic songs from the Revolutionary period and will be brought to tears by the hauntingly beautiful harmonies and touching lyrics of the many new compositions.

I look forward to what comes next from the imaginations of these exceptionally talented women.”
